Pet questions & Advice!

Post by Lala on Wed Nov 19, 2008 10:30 pm

Ok so I know a lot of us have pets so I thought it was about time we had a 'pet questions and advice' thread! That way we can ask questions and share useful tips, info and advice on looking after our extra family members Laughing

So first question...

How on earth do you make a dogs breath smell less like sh*t?! Laughing

Laughing I would normally brush his teeth but normally archien holds him down whilst I do it! Seen as he is away the holding down is no longer an option (as gutted as archie is!).

Bones are a good idea though, he loves a good bone.

i give my dog a dentastix most days, the proper make as ive tried cheapo brands and she either dosent eat them or they dont work.

Q How often do you cut their claws, do you do it yourself or a professional? I got to admit its been a while as i started the grooming myself and i cut her claw and it bleed so i was scared to do it again. They seemed fine in the summer as she was getting lots of walks but now she has started digging as if they are sore so i was going to take her to a professional to get her nails and coat trimmed

I don't think Archie has ever had his claws cut. We tend to take him for loads of long walks because he gets a bit hyper otherwise! I don't think I could do it myself.

Thankfully Archie only has short hair so I just use one of those grooming mit things and rub him all over Laughing He loves it!

We don't cut our dogs nails. I use an electric nail file on her. She's so relax about the whole thing, I can even paint her nails

As for bad breath, you might need to brush Archies teeth. We brush our dogs every time we give her a bath.

Q....any ideas for less shedding...we have a lab mix & it seems like she is always shedding.
Just paint me green & call me Fionna from Shrek.
